Terms of Service
Your rights and obligations when using MasjidConnect (masjidconnect.app). Last updated: September 11, 2026.
MasjidConnect is operated by Ummah Media Group LLC, a registered company in California, USA. These Terms govern your use of MasjidConnect; the Privacy Policy governs what we do with your data. Where a feature hands over to another Ummah Media Group service — UmmahPass, UmmahCauses, UmmahArmy, ummah.email — that service's own terms and privacy policy govern that part.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using MasjidConnect, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
2. Description of the Service
MasjidConnect is a platform for masjids and their communities: prayer times, announcements, events, a community feed, digital signage screens, online giving connected to UmmahCauses, volunteer missions connected to UmmahArmy, and masjid-approved advertising on screens. MasjidConnect is free for masjids — advertisers pay; a share of each campaign is set aside for the masjids running it.
3. Accounts and Sign-In
You can create a MasjidConnect account with an email address and password, or sign in with UmmahPass. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials safe and for everything done with your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us at the address in section 16.
4. Claiming a Masjid
Any masjid in the directory may be claimed by someone authorised to represent it. Our team reviews claims and verifies the information before approving them — we do not quote a response time, because there is no rota behind the promise. Directory listings are sourced from public records and community contributions; we do not guarantee the accuracy or continued operation of any listing.
Claiming is free and always will be. A claim is neither payment nor endorsement.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree to use MasjidConnect only for lawful purposes and in accordance with Islamic ethics. You must not:
Distributed or forbidden content; harassment; anything that violates applicable law. Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the service. Scrape, crawl or extract data at scale without written permission. Impersonate any person, organisation or Ummah Media Group staff member.
6. Community Content
When you post — a feed post, an announcement, an event, a comment — you confirm that you own it or have the right to share it. You remain responsible for what you post. We do not claim ownership; you grant us the permission needed to host, store, back up and display it in the ordinary running of the service. Masjid staff control what appears on their masjid's own surfaces and may remove anything that does not belong there.
If you believe content on MasjidConnect infringes your copyright, tell us at the address in section 16 and we will route it to the appropriate team.
7. Donations
Donations made through MasjidConnect are processed by UmmahCauses, a separate Ummah Media Group service with its own terms and privacy policy, via Stripe. MasjidConnect facilitates the connection only and takes no fee from donations — the money belongs to the masjid. Ummah Media Group is not liable for how a masjid spends funds it raises.
8. Screens and Advertising
Advertising on masjid screens is opt-in per masjid. The masjid approves every advertiser that appears on its screens and can remove any advertiser at any time — removal is the masjid's own action and takes effect immediately. Every advert is reviewed before it goes live, and advertising never interrupts prayer times.
A share of what an advertiser spends is set aside for the masjid running the advert, tracked per campaign and shown on the masjid's earnings page. The exact share is set per campaign; nothing is paid out until it has been earned and settled.
9. Volunteer Missions (UmmahArmy)
Volunteer missions connect through UmmahArmy, a Ummah Media Group platform with its own terms and privacy policy. When your masjid posts a mission, the mission and its volunteers live with UmmahArmy; a mission can be closed but not deleted, and past its deadline it is closed automatically. MasjidConnect shows you the missions and volunteer activity for your masjid inside this dashboard — it does not replace UmmahArmy's own terms.
10. Prayer Times
Prayer times shown by MasjidConnect are estimates based on astronomical calculations for the masjid's location and the chosen calculation method. They are not a fatwa. Masjids — not us — are responsible for confirming the times they publish to their own congregation.
11. Intellectual Property
The MasjidConnect name, logo and design, and all content produced by Ummah Media Group LLC, are our intellectual property. You may not reproduce or distribute them without written permission.
12. Limitation of Liability
MasjidConnect is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. Ummah Media Group LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim — which, for most masjids, is nothing.
13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to any part of MasjidConnect for violation of these Terms. You may close your account at any time by contacting us. Closing an account does not remove content you posted to surfaces other users control, and it does not delete records on platforms we do not own (your UmmahArmy commander profile, for example) — see our Privacy Policy for how deletion works.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Los Angeles County, California, unless mutually agreed otherwise.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time; the new version is posted here with a new date. For meaningful changes we will tell registered users before they take effect, except where an immediate change is required for security or legal-compliance reasons.
