An honest comparison

How MasjidConnect compares

Choosing software for a masjid is a trust decision, so this page is written to be checked, not believed. Competitor figures are their own published claims, marked as such. Our column describes what the platform does today — and where a competitor does something better, we say so.

Competitor cells are taken from their own public materials and pricing pages. A “No” means not offered in those materials today — not that they have no interest in it. Figures marked as their pricing or their claim are exactly that.

Where MasjidConnect is ahead

The rows above are the checklist. These are the differences that don’t fit in a cell.

The screen earns for the masjid instead of costing it

We run a shared pool of advertisers. Your masjid approves every one of them, a share of what they spend is set aside for your masjid, and every second an advert plays is recorded so the share can be checked. Nobody else in this set runs that engine and the accounting behind it.

Genuinely free, with money coming in

Most "free" masjid tools move the cost somewhere else — a tip asked of your donor, a monthly fee, a percentage of donations forever. MasjidConnect is free to the masjid and shares advertising revenue with it.

Screens that don't go dark when the Wi-Fi does

Our signage keeps its prayer times and content with no internet connection. The market leader's own FAQ says an internet connection is required.

A public, documented API

MasjidConnect is API-first — the web app, the screens and the future mobile app all consume the same documented API. A missing API is a named complaint in at least one competitor's own reviews.

Money you can audit

Every advert play is recorded against the second it ran, and the ledger behind it is append-only — entries can be added, never edited or deleted. A masjid can check what it is owed rather than take it on trust.

Your community list stays yours

The people who follow your masjid are your congregation, not our marketing list. We do not market our other products to them.

The masjid controls the advertisers itself

Approval is a real control the masjid holds: it approves or declines every advert, and can remove one from its own screens at any time. Removal is the masjid's own action and takes effect immediately — it does not wait on us.

To be honest about it

Mawaqit is the strongest prayer-times product in this set — over ten thousand mosques, free, run as a nonprofit waqf. If accurate times are all a masjid needs, it is an excellent choice.

Masjidal has been doing this for years and ships a plug-and-play screen player. A masjid that wants a box posted to it with zero setup may prefer that today.

Mobile app: ours is not out yet. Masjidal, Mohid and Mawaqit all have one today. Ours is planned — the platform is API-first so the app is assembly rather than architecture, but it is not in your hand today.

We are new. One donation has completed end-to-end and one demo payout has been made, all on our own test records — no ad payout to a real masjid has fired yet. We would rather a masjid hear that from us than discover it later.
